About ShinnySpots.com
Independent and not affiliated. ShinnySpots.com is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the City of Burnaby, the City of Vancouver or any other municipality, school district or arena operator.
What this is
A simple directory of places to play shinny and ball hockey outdoors (lacrosse boxes and courts), where to find Public Skating, and drop-in ice sessions (shinny, stick & puck, adult and family skates) in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
How we check things
- We read the official city or operator page and record the date we last read it.
- Where an official page was not read in full, or the only source was a local club or a third-party schedule site, the page says so.
- If we could not confirm something, we write check official schedule or not confirmed. That never means “no”.
- Pins on maps are approximate.
What this is not
It is not a booking service and it cannot tell you whether a box is open right now. Rules, schedules, fees and closures change. Always check the official link on each page.

No ads, no trackers
This site has no ads and no analytics scripts. Pages with maps load map tiles from third-party map providers (listed under the map) when you open them.
