Privacy

ShinnySpots.com is an independent guide. This page says what the site collects and why, in plain terms.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects anonymous traffic stats, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are and what device they use. We use these numbers to see which pages are useful. We do not use them to identify you. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a blocker, and the site works the same.

Forms

We use Netlify Forms for the weekly email signup, the “Report an update” button and the pickup game board. If you submit one of these, we receive what you type (for example your email address, or the details of an update or game) and use it only to send the weekly email, check and fix the listing, or run the pickup board. Netlify processes form submissions for us.

Location

The “Near me” feature asks your browser for your location only when you press its button. The location stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

Maps and links

Pages with maps load map tiles from third-party map providers. Links to official city and rink pages go to sites we do not control and that have their own privacy policies.

No selling of data

We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
